Hi there, NPC viewers! This is my pirate comic. It updates twice a week, when I’m not swamped, and the first collection is available in my shoppe. I hope to see you again, and I hope you’ll leave a comment on any pages you think are good. Thanks for checking out Strangebeard!

Since most of the Kickstarter books are in the mail, I’m opening the store. You can now buy Strangebeard books, books with illustrated bookplates, and a couple of larger drawings.

Wow, lots of views coming from my NPC strip! Thanks for checking out Strangebeard, everyone. It really means a lot. I’m having a great time drawing Ryan Sohmer’s scripts this past week and I can’t wait for what’s coming next for poor little Wille.

We’re getting down to the wire for Christmas orders. If you want a Strangebeard book, best to order this week from my online store to make sure it arrives. This applies only to the U.S. and Canada; the European cut-off was today.

At long last, the Dread King arrives! I first teased that the King of England was known by this grisly appellation during one of Sir Charles’s early appearances.

FYI, the king himself is based visually on Zarok/Scorponok from Marvel’s The Transformers comics from my youth. I loved Scorponok’s turn from super-villain to noble hero, and his sacrifice against the monstrous evil of Unicron. Don’t read too much into it, though… The Dread King has his own plans for the Caribbean. Why else would he have come himself?

That story’s been a long time coming. The Governor is one of my favorite characters; he’s got a lot of depth to him that has only been scratched a little bit.

A little shout-out to Stan Sakai with the original governor’s death gasp there.

And we’re back!

But what have we been up to since the last update weeks and weeks ago?

Well, Kelly launched the Kickstarter for The Adventurers, Volume 1: Love You Very So Much, the collection of his diary strips available at The Adventurers website. There’s that, and there were the three comic shows (Emerald City in Seattle, Calgary Expo in Calgary, and East Coast Comic Expo in Moncton, all of whom were amazing and super fun) and my work on Johnny Vegas (which wraps up pretty soon). Very very busy right now.

Please support The Adventurers on Kickstarter… The book is a labour of love for me, and if it weren’t for its therapeutic effects I might have quit comics years ago. I only need to sell forty more books to close off the campaign… let’s get it done!

I love The Governor. He’s probably my favorite supporting character to write… a goofball at heart who loves the world but fears the darkness in his own heart. I can relate, man.
